Daughters timed me eating dinner after a shift. Four minutes, ten seconds

moss_sandal_9110

Came home from the evening shift, sat down, ate. My younger one had the stopwatch running on my phone the whole time without telling me. The elder one wrote the time on the fridge whiteboard with a sad face next to it. They've now made a rule that I put the spoon down between bites. Twenty years of hospital canteens and I'm being retrained at my own dining table.

The sad face on the whiteboard is a lovely touch. Kids are the strictest auditors we have. Hope the spoon rule survives the next run of shifts ❤️

Auditors, yes. My grandson checks whether I have taken my tablets. Before I do.

My partner is a doctor too and eats just like this. We stopped commenting years ago. Our son just moves his plate a little further away from hers.

Teachers are not far behind. Our lunch break is 25 minutes and half of it goes to someone standing at the staffroom door. I would fail your daughters' test too.
