Daughter's IB school is a long drive. Is SR Digi School in Kushaiguda realistic for class 8?

She goes into grade 7 at her IB school next month. It's a long drive every day from AS Rao Nagar, and over the next few years the cost will matter more. SR DIGI SCHOOL in Kushaiguda, on the CBSE side, is the one we're looking at for class 8 next year. Did anyone here switch a child from IB to CBSE at 12 or 13? What did they find hardest? And if anyone has spoken to this school about a class 8 joiner, what did they ask for?

We looked at it for pre-primary a few months ago, so I can't speak to the middle classes. The office was willing to answer questions at length when we went on a weekday, and I'd guess a class 8 enquiry gets a proper conversation. For a board change I would ask to see a class 7 or 8 question paper. That tells you more about what she would be walking into than any brochure.

My elder girl is in ICSE, which is a different move, but several of her friends came in from IB schools around this age. The hard part for them turned out to be writing long answers by hand in a timed exam, after years of projects and typed work. A few months of practice writing answers at home made a real difference for them. The good news is the IB children tended to be very comfortable speaking up in class ❤️
