Daughter got a Class 4 seat, son's Class 2 seat is 'depends'. Take one or wait?

We applied to the same school for both children for 2027-28. Our daughter (9) has been offered a Class 4 seat and they want the admission fee by the end of the month. For our son (7), they've said Class 2 depends on how many current students leave, and they'll only know in January. The whole point of moving was one school, one bus, one set of holidays. If we pay for her and his seat doesn't come through, we'd have two schools in two directions for at least a year. If we wait, we might lose hers. We both work and alternate office days, so two separate pickups is a real problem, not just an inconvenience. Has anyone been in this position? Did you take the one seat or hold out?

not the same but close. we're in pune, choosing a school for my 4 yr old where the timings don't match either of our work days. i keep hearing january from schools too. did they give you a waiting list number or only depends

  'depends' is exactly what we got too, about after school care at one place 🤷 we pushed for a rough number and got 'usually two or three seats open up'. not a promise but better than nothing. worth asking them straight
