The plot next to our building on Sarjapur Road started work last week. Drilling and a concrete mixer most of the day. Our daughter is 2 months old and naps four or five times a day, and now every nap ends twenty minutes in with the next bang. My partner is home with her, I'm out on demos most days. White noise? Another room? Anything that worked for you?
A building went up opposite us when our son was about three months old. Two things helped. We moved his daytime naps to the bedroom on the far side of the flat, which was not where we wanted him but was noticeably quieter. And we ran a fan plus a white noise app at a steady, moderate level, so the sudden noises stood out less against it. It never became quiet, but the naps got longer. If your building has an association, you could also ask whether the site keeps fixed hours. Ours agreed to stop the loudest work over lunch.
