Asked my manager for day-return customer visits only, till the baby is six months. Reasonable?
Our daughter is 3 months old. My job has customer demos and, until now, overnight trips every few weeks. I've asked my manager if I can keep to day-return visits till she's around six months. Early flight out, last flight back. The reply was 'let's see how it goes', which could mean anything. Relatives nearby can help sometimes, but not with nights, and I don't want my partner doing every night feed alone while I'm in a hotel. For those in sales or customer-facing roles, did a request like this hold? Or were you back on overnight trips within a month?
