Are parent-and-toddler swim classes at 2 worth three days a week?

orchid_compass_4878

There's a club pool near us in Kompally running a 30 minute session for 2 to 4 year olds with a parent. Three days a week, paid by the term. The video they showed was mostly songs and splashing. My daughter loves water, so she'd enjoy it. I just want to know if it does anything a bucket and a bath don't. Anyone done it at this age?

did it with my son at 3. mostly splashing and songs, yes. the real gain was he got used to being splashed and dunked without crying. that's it, but it helped later

Was the parent in the water every class? My partner would be the one going, and doesn't swim.

How many days a week did you go? Three days for half an hour of songs seems like a lot to commit to.

ours had a parent in the water for under 4s. i don't swim either, stood in the shallow end holding her for the whole term, was fine. the instructor did all the actual teaching

We did once a week when my son was small and that was plenty. He only learnt to swim properly at 7, in a proper batch. The toddler classes were more about getting comfortable in water than any strokes, so I wouldn't pay for three days.
