Any pottery class that takes a UKG child? He keeps raiding my clay

sage_drum_6302

I do hand-building at home on weekends, and for the last month my son has been sitting next to me with his own lump of clay. He is more patient with it than with anything else he does, which surprised both of us. I'd like something regular for him, weekly with the same teacher, not a one-off workshop. The studios I've messaged near Mehdipatnam either start at 7 or 8 years, or only run weekend events for kids. Has anyone found a place that takes children this young on a regular basis, even if a parent has to sit in?

What does 'regular' mean to the studios when you ask? Most age limits I've heard are about the wheel, not clay. Hand-building with a parent present is a different request. When I phrased it that way for my daughter years ago, one place took her at 6. Ask for hand-building only, and say you'll stay.

I had only asked about 'kids' classes', so that is probably why every answer was about the wheel. Weekly with the same teacher is what I'm after; he needs the routine more than the clay. Will rephrase and ask again.

Update, in case someone searches for this: asked two studios again, this time for hand-building with me present. One still said 7. The other has a Saturday morning adult batch and said he can sit at my table as long as he doesn't wander off. Trying it this weekend.
