Anweshini Grammar High School for class 9 if we move to the Karmanghat side next year

cedar_camera_6782

We may shift to the Karmanghat side in a year or so. Nothing fixed, but likely enough that I've started looking. Our daughter is 12 and in an English-medium state board school, so she'd be joining class 9, maybe 10, wherever we end up. Anweshini Grammar comes up often for that area and it's CBSE up to class 10. Two questions. How hard is a state board to CBSE move at that age, for anyone whose child has done it? And does anyone know how the school handles joiners in class 9? She's a confident kid, but she's been with the same classmates since UKG 🙂

No experience with that school. The first thing I'd ask about is the second language in 9 and 10. If she hasn't done much Hindi so far, Hindi at board level is often the hardest part of the move, more than the sciences.

hindi is the one. my daughter's friend came from state board in class 5 and it took her most of a year to catch up in hindi. maths and science were fine

Our daughter changed boards for class 11, not 9. It was easier because everyone in junior college was new. In class 9 she'd be the new one in a class that has been together since nursery. Not a reason not to do it, just something to plan for.

If the shift date isn't fixed, ask whether they take joiners partway through class 9. Some schools only admit at the start of the year, and a move in October could leave you between two schools for a few months.
