A family photo by her cot at daycare: will it settle her, or make nap time worse?

amber_pebble_8491

Our daughter has started cruising round the furniture, and in the last couple of weeks she's begun crying at daycare nap time, standing at the cot rail looking for us. The daycare has asked us to send a family photo to stick on the wall next to her cot. I'm happy to send one. I'm just not sure whether seeing our faces will settle her or remind her we aren't there. Did your daycare do this, and did it make any difference?

years back now, but our daughter's daycare had a photo wall. she kissed hers every morning and then forgot about it. never seemed to upset her

Good to hear. I'll send one with her grandmother in it too, she lights up for her.

Our son is two months old, so this is a thought rather than experience. I would ask whether the crying is when she's falling asleep or when she wakes up. If it's waking, the photo might be the first thing she sees, which could go either way.

Whatever you send, get it laminated. Anything at that height ends up in their mouth.

      Replying to @cedar_rain_2378

I messaged the coordinator this afternoon. It's mostly when she wakes, and they say the photo tends to help the cruisers more than the little babies. Laminated copy goes in tomorrow.
