0on Grandmother wants the morning oil bath, our nanny swears by a bath before bed
I took your advice and said, plainly, that it was my call and why. The caregiver accepted it straight away. His grandmother was quiet for a day and then asked if she could still do the massage on weekends, which I was happy to agree to. Not perfect, but much calmer than last week.
0on Grandmother wants the morning oil bath, our nanny swears by a bath before bed
This is close to what we've tried since Wednesday. Massage stays in the morning with his grandmother, then a quick wash. The proper bath is in the evening with the caregiver, before his last feed. Three days in, he's sleeping a little better and there has been no redoing. I'm cautious about calling it solved this early.
2on A family photo by her cot at daycare: will it settle her, or make nap time worse?
Our son is two months old, so this is a thought rather than experience. I would ask whether the crying is when she's falling asleep or when she wakes up. If it's waking, the photo might be the first thing she sees, which could go either way.
0on Back from paternity leave straight into a release week
We are a month ahead of you and in a similar place. One thing I would ask first is whether your partner wants you home earlier, or wants a fixed time to rely on. For us it was the second. Knowing it would be 8.30 for certain was easier than 'maybe 7, maybe 10'.
0on My mother wants us indoors till three months. I'd like ten minutes in the society garden
That's a useful way to put it. I asked her this morning and, after some back and forth, it is infection. Someone in our block had a fever last week and she heard about it. We have agreed on the balcony for now, and the garden once that has passed, at an hour when nobody is down.
