clubs got chosen at school this week. she came home and said debate, very casually. all three of her friends picked debate. she has never once enjoyed arguing in front of people. she fills a sketchbook every weekend. the art club is on the same day. i haven't said anything yet and i'm not sure i should. it's one period a week, but it runs the whole year.
In class 8 I joined the dance group because my best friend did. I cannot dance. One full year standing in the back row. But I still remember that year as a happy one because of her. Maybe it is not so bad.
Find out what the art club does first. At my daughter's school it was mostly painting banners for events. She might be happier drawing at home and laughing through debate with her friends.
let her pick wrong. it's a club, not a marriage. if she hates it she'll switch next year, and it'll have been her call
