10 yr old has started knocking before he comes into our room
Nobody taught him. Started this week. Knock, wait, come in. Sweet. Also slightly suspicious. Is this the start of him wanting the same rule for his door?

yes. ours started knocking at 10, the sign on his door came at 11. says 'knock' and underneath 'and wait'
My nephew did this at my place too, and then I noticed he only knocked when he wanted something. Two knocks meant he needed money for the canteen. Watch for a pattern before you get sentimental.
We knocked on our daughter's door from about that age and she has always knocked on ours. The downside is that years later I still don't know when it's fine to just walk in with the laundry. I'd match it now, since he offered first.
