10 yr old has banned my singing in the car when her friends are in it

orchid_river_8905

rule came in last week. no singing, no humming, no tapping on the steering wheel, and the music stays on whatever the friends pick. fine then on the drive home, just the two of us, she asks for my old songs and sings louder than me. the 8 yr old still requests my singing so I have one fan left 🤷

At 12 it extends to talking. I'm allowed one hello to her friends and then I'm meant to turn into the driver. The singing-when-nobody's-watching does survive though, ours still does duets with me on the way back from dance :)

I can confirm this from the sibling side. My sister is fourteen and I drive her to tuition on Saturdays. Alone with me she sings everything. If a friend gets in, I am told to keep my hands on the wheel and not speak. I assumed it was about me, but apparently our father gets the same treatment.

      Replying to @ochre_drum_9139

15 here. Her friends have now started asking for my songs. She's furious.
