Different level: our boy is 10 and doing weekend coaching for the Sainik School entrance. It takes his full Sunday and he is tired on Monday. At 17 he knows himself better, I think he can decide.

My son is in 5th, state board. In his school unit test marks are added for final, teacher told this in first meeting itself. Every school is different I think. You can write one line in the diary and ask the teacher, no need to wait one month for PTM.

Good that you told him no. I am the other type. I have already decided on Sainik School for my son, he is in class 5 now. Reading your post I am thinking I should ask him once what he wants, before I go further.

I work in shifts at a pharma plant. In our QC lab, B.Sc chemistry and B.Pharm people work side by side, same shift, same work. B.Pharm helps more for some roles, true, but finishing her B.Sc is not a waste. Ask her what work she is picturing every day. Many young people change their mind once they see the actual work.
