2·12 Sept 2026·on Moving across the city in January. Do schools take a class 2 child mid-year?

Following this one closely. We move from Ahmedabad to the Kompally area in April for my job, with my son going into class 8. Every school I've phoned so far says "apply in January, seats depend". Nobody commits to anything. If you find a school that gives a straight answer, please share it here.

0·14 Aug 2026·on Daughter wants to switch from computer science to PE in class 11. School allows changes till month end

We're in Ahmedabad and moving to Hyderabad next year, so I read this group a lot. My daughter is in class 12 on the biology side and took physical education as her fifth subject in 11th. For her it worked because the theory was manageable and she needed the hours for chemistry. The practical and fitness part took more effort than her friends had promised. For medical entrance it hasn't mattered at all, as far as we know. For engineering or CS courses later, check whether any college wants CS specifically. With PCM she has maths anyway.

0·15 Jun 2026·on Our 14 year old wants to ride the colony scooty with her friends. Inside the gates only, she says

Here in Ahmedabad half the 14 year olds in our society ride scooters inside the compound, and a few outside it. I never allowed my daughter, and now she is 17 and too busy with NEET to care. My son is 12 and has started asking. We move to Hyderabad next April and I was hoping the question would stay behind in Gujarat.
