Not the school itself, but on the board question: both my girls study in English-medium state board and the early classes were not lighter or heavier in any way that mattered for us. The commute is the bigger question. If she rides with you, what happens on the days you leave early or have a weekend event?
1on What goes on a 'call me if' list for our 7 month old's grandmother and caregiver?
That's a sensible start. We added 'unusually sleepy or hard to wake' and 'a rash', because those were the two our paediatrician mentioned when we asked. Also put the paediatrician's number and the nearest hospital on the same sheet, so nobody has to reach you first if it's urgent. With my mother, calling it a list for the caregiver helped. She ended up following it more closely than anyone ❤️
0on Our 3 year old's imaginary friend now needs a plate at dinner
Late to this, but the 'ate at her own house' line is going into my notes. Our younger daughter's friend was a rabbit who needed carrots at every meal. She's 8 now and claims she doesn't remember any of it ❤️
1on Has anyone's employer agreed to a phased return after maternity leave?
Not the same situation as a mother, but when my younger one was born I didn't get a phased schedule either. I took two days a week off from my leave balance for a month instead. If your company won't formalise a phase, that might get you most of the way there. It was a much gentler month at home ❤️
