What does the full annual school cost look like beyond the advertised fee?

We are trying to keep the total spend under ₹1 lakh a year. Apart from tuition, what caught you by surprise — transport, books, uniforms, activities, annual charges or compulsory trips? I want to compare schools using the real yearly number. If you faced the same decision and later changed your mind, I would love to know why.
