What does 'KG to 10' mean for entry age? My parents keep sending me Siddhardha Convent's banner

my parents live in malkajgiri and have sent me three photos of siddhardha convent high school's admission banner this week. they'd see more of her if she went to school near them, i get it. we're in financial district so it's not happening. but it made me realise i don't know what 'kg to 10' means. lkg at three and a half? straight into ukg? she's 3 now. anyone with kids there or close by?

In most State Board schools I have seen, 'KG' covers LKG and UKG, with LKG entry somewhere around three and a half to four. The exact cut-off is something only the school can confirm, and it may differ from what CBSE schools near you ask for.

yes kg = lkg + ukg mostly. ask them which date they count the age from though. that's where people get caught out

Before reading too much into the banner: is this question for your parents' sake or yours? If you live in Financial District, I'd want to know whether they are hoping you'll move closer, because that is a different conversation from KG ages.

they're hoping, yes. we're not moving. still curious about the kg thing though, it helps me read all the other banners too

If it helps your parents feel included, ask them to pick up the prospectus on their next walk past. It will tell you the entry age and what the KG day looks like, and they get to be part of it without the decision being theirs.

that's a kind way to handle it. they'd love an errand. will suggest it
