Two pickups, 12.30 and 3.30, and a workday that now comes in three pieces

My partner does the mornings, I do pickups. Since the younger one started playschool this year, that means 12.30 for her and 3.30 for her sister, in different directions. I work remote, which sounds like it should make this easy. It doesn't. I get roughly 9 to 12, 1.15 to 3, and then whatever is left after 4.30 when both of them are home and the little one wants to sit on my keyboard. The work gets done. I've just stopped being able to do anything that needs two quiet hours in a row. If you've done the split-pickup year, did you move work to the night, or just accept it until the younger one's school hours got longer?
