Son's first job is in Hyderabad from July. How much do we help him find a place to live?

He finishes college this month and joins a firm in Hitec City in July. He has never lived on his own, unless you count a hostel that also did his laundry. My instinct is to fly down for a weekend and look at flats and PGs with him. His instinct is to share with two batchmates he found through a group chat, sight unseen, wherever is cheapest. My partner says let him make the mistake and help only if he asks. I'm not sure a bad lease is the mistake I'd pick for him, but I also remember how much I disliked my father inspecting my first room in Pune 🙂 If your child moved to Hyderabad for work, which areas did they end up in, and did you get involved or stay out of it?
