the form came back with a note on it. please choose one, it can be changed later. she was annoyed, not upset. her words: 'then why does it matter.' i had nothing useful to say. at 13 i wanted to be a fighter pilot because of a film. she says she'll write marine biology because the form needs something. it feels a bit like teaching her to fill forms instead of think, but maybe that's a skill too.
