Saw the admissions banner at St. Cristophers. Is there any class before nursery?

Walked past St. Cristophers Convent School in Banjara Hills this evening and saw their admission banner up. My daughter is 1, so obviously not this year 😄 But it got me thinking. Does the school take children only from nursery, or is there a playgroup type class before that? And roughly what age do kids start nursery at a state board school here? Trying to decide whether we look at a separate play school first or just wait.

No idea how this school does it. The general tradeoff for us, years ago, was this: a play school gave our daughter a gentle start with short hours, but it meant another transition a year later when she moved to the main school. Some children manage that easily; ours took a few weeks to settle each time. I would still choose the play school again, mainly because the shorter day suited her at that age.

our younger one did a small play school near home till about 3 then joined a school nursery. the school office told us their age cutoff date when we called. it's different at different schools so just call and ask

Makes sense, will call them after Diwali. The cutoff date is exactly the thing I couldn't find anywhere.

With a 1 year old I'd park the school question for a year 😄 We had our elder one's whole schooling mapped out at 1 and redid most of it by 3. The play school decision depends more on your work hours and who's at home than on any particular school.
