Power goes in the evening rain and our 1 month old wakes up sweating. Inverter, or something smaller?

Ameerpet, older building. Most evenings this week the power has gone for anywhere between twenty minutes and an hour once the rain starts. The baby's room gets stuffy fast, she wakes up damp, and then nobody sleeps. We don't have an inverter. Is it worth getting one now just for a fan and a light, or do people manage with a rechargeable fan? I'd rather not buy something huge that we use for two months of the year.

We got a small inverter when our daughter was born, mostly for the fan in her room, and used it far more than we expected. Not only in the rains. Get the battery size worked out for the load you need. The shop tried to sell us one that would run the whole flat.

counterpoint. we bought an inverter when our elder one was a baby. fourteen years later it runs the wifi router and nothing else. the rechargeable fan is what got used at night

router and nothing else is my exact fear. rechargeable fan for now then. typing this past midnight with her on my shoulder, power came back ten minutes ago

we had one of those fans when our daughter was small. battery gave up in about a year. by then she could sleep through anything, including the fan dying
