Our almost-one-year-old has found a very high scream and uses it for everything

Wants the spoon: scream. Wants down: scream. Sees the neighbour's cat on the balcony wall: scream. He's not upset, he's quite cheerful about it. It's just very high and very loud, and the neighbours have started joking about it in the lift. Is this a normal stage before words, or do we need to do something about it?

Ours started this month too, same pitch! What we're trying: saying the word for what she wants each time, "up", "more", calmly, and responding quickly when she makes any sound that isn't the scream. Too early to say it works, but she has started a sort of "uh" for up. You're not alone in the lift ❤
