Nursery to class 12 at one school like DAV Kukatpally. Is fifteen years in one place a good thing?

Our daughter is still crawling, so this is very much a future question. But we walk past DAV Public School in Kukatpally most evenings, and the families in our building all seem to agree on one thing: pick a school that goes from nursery to 12, get in at three, and never think about it again. I can see the appeal. No second round of admissions, the same friends all the way through. But fifteen years with the same classmates and teachers also sounds like a long time to be 'the girl who cried every morning in nursery'. For those whose children did the whole stretch in one school, or moved partway: what did you notice?

ours moved once, at 4, from a playschool to a big school and stayed. the friends she has now are mostly from class 6 onwards anyway, when sections got mixed. so the 'same friends all the way' thing didn't really happen even without moving

From the teacher's side, and this is my impression rather than anything I've measured: labels can stick in a school where the same people have known a child since she was small. Most children are fine with it. A few really enjoy a fresh start around class 6, where nobody remembers their nursery year. Whichever way you go, it helps to know the school mixes sections every so often, so a child isn't with one fixed group for a decade.

      Replying to @fern_bookmark_9922

changed schools three times as a kid because of my father's job. hated it each time, and also it's why i can walk into any room now. so no clean answer from me
