my school reopens tomorrow. his daycare reopens next monday
One week. No daycare, no plan. Partner can do two days from home. That leaves three 😅

Does the daycare run anything for that last week? Ours had a reduced batch with fewer staff that wasn't on the main notice; you had to ask for it. If not, the three days come down to paying someone you don't know or using leave you'll want later in the year. I've done both. Neither felt good, but the leave was easier on her.
asked in may. closed for painting. all of it
Would your school let you bring him in for part of the day? Some schools allow staff children in the first week, when the timetable is still light. I don't know whether yours does, but it's worth asking rather than assuming no.
asked. principal said yes for afternoons, staff room, with the art teacher's toddler for company. day one done. he drew on a chair 😅

Good. I'd just treat it as a one-off yes and not something to lean on at the next closure. These things tend to quietly stop once someone senior notices.
Keep going
