My mother's neighbour wants nursery at Prashanthi Vidya Niketan and assumes I'll know what to ask

My parents live in Vanasthalipuram, and their neighbour's little girl is due to start nursery. Because I'm the doctor in the family, the neighbour has decided I know about schools. I know my own daughter's school and that's it. The one she likes is Prashanthi Vidya Niketan High School. It's State Board and goes up to class 10, so she's thinking of it as the school for the long haul. What would you ask on a first visit for a three year old? She has a list from a relative that is mostly about class 10 results, which seems a long way off for a child who still naps after lunch. If anyone has children there or has visited, ordinary details would help more than opinions.

I've never been inside this school, but I teach young children and have a son around that age, so here's what I'd look at in any nursery. How long the day is and whether there's a rest time. Who takes the children to the toilet, a fixed adult or whoever is free. Count the adults in the room, not only the children. Ask what the first fortnight looks like while they settle, and whether a parent can stay for some of it. And if they allow it, stand at a classroom door for five minutes. You can see quickly whether the children are busy or just seated.

This is far more useful than the class 10 list, and I'm sending it to her as it is. The toilet question hadn't occurred to either of us. I'll tell her to push on the first two weeks especially; the child has never spent a morning away from her grandmother.
