hiring after-school help. does it matter if she speaks our home language?

looking for someone for the afternoons for my two boys, 4 and 6, narsingi. my partner and i are both out till evening. the boys already answer their grandparents in english on video calls and kannada is slipping fast. one candidate speaks kannada but can only do four days. the other is free all week, speaks telugu and some english. part of me thinks language shouldn't decide a childcare hire. part of me thinks it would be the most kannada they'd hear anywhere all week. did anyone choose help partly for language, and did it make a difference
