Five weeks postpartum and every single meal has garlic in it

My mother and aunt are in charge of food for the first forty days and the rules are strict. Garlic in everything, dry ginger powder with ghee before lunch, no curd after sunset, one vegetable a day, nothing cold, including water from the fridge. I'm grateful. I know a lot of it is meant to help with feeds. But I would like one dosa without a lecture. Did anyone negotiate the confinement menu, or do you just wait out the forty days?
