Every baby product says 'paediatrician recommended'. Recommended by whom?

olive_bookmark_1167

Nappy cream, baby wash, a massage oil, even a cotton towel. Each label says paediatrician recommended or dermatologically tested. None of them says which paediatrician, or what was tested. Is there any way to tell what these claims mean, or do you go by your own doctor and ignore the labels?

'Dermatologically tested' usually only means it was tested on skin, not that it passed anything in particular. 'Recommended' can be one doctor in an advertisement. With my son I ignored the labels and asked his doctor for two or three names for the basics.

Same stage, same shelf. I've stopped reading the front and only read the ingredient list, which is its own adventure at 3 am. Still haven't found a wash that doesn't smell like dessert.
