European club football kicks off at 12.30 am here, and my 15 year old wants the midweek games

I'm the one who got him into football, so I can't really play the outraged parent. Weekend games at 12.30 or later, fine. The midweek ones are the problem. He's in grade 10, assessments coming up, and his plan is to 'just sleep after half-time'. Nobody sleeps after half-time. Now the 12 year old wants to know why the rule would be different for him. Fair question, I suppose. How do other football households handle this? Morning highlights feel like a punishment to him.

Not football in our house, it's a band's live streams from the other side of the world, but it's the same fight. What we landed on: one late night a week, she picks which one, and the next morning she doesn't get to be grumpy about it. If she's grumpy, she loses the next one. Half the weeks she doesn't even use it.

One a week, his pick. He'd accept that because it's his choice. The grumpy clause will be tested on day one.
