Eighteen months old and my glasses are her favourite toy. I now wear them on a cord like a librarian

Every cuddle, every bedtime story, one hand shoots up and the glasses are gone. Bent the frame twice in a week. So I bought a cord. Now she just pulls them down to my chin and looks very pleased with herself, and I spend half the day squinting at my own child.

Our daughter broke two pairs of mine at that age. The cord helped with the losses but not the grabbing. What finally worked was an old empty frame of my own that she was allowed to chew. Do you have a spare pair lying around?

Yes! My old pair from residency days is somewhere in a drawer. Digging it out tonight. She'll probably still want the ones on my face 😊
