Do the nursery children at Gowtham Model School in KPHB start writing in the first year?

ochre_sketch_5226

Our son is still a baby and at daycare, so this is very early. We may move closer to KPHB next year, and Gowtham Model School is the one people around there keep mentioning for nursery. What I'd love to hear from parents with little ones there: is the first year mostly play and talking, or do they start letters in notebooks? We'd prefer a gentle start, but I don't know what's usual for a state board nursery ♥

Can't help on this school, sorry. My son did nursery in Lucknow and they started pencil work only in the second half of the year. When we came here, families in our colony told me their children were writing letters by UKG. Better to ask the school to show you a nursery notebook from last year, then you see it for yourself.

'Writing' covers a lot. Tracing lines, single letters, or words in a four-line book? Ask them which, and by which month. 'Mostly play' is printed on every brochure.
