Daycare says he naps well. He comes home at 5 too tired to sit through dinner

velvet_sandal_3008

Our son is one, and he started daycare in April. Their report every day says slept well, happy. At home he used to nap twice, an hour each time. But he falls asleep in the car at 5, cries through dinner, and has dozed off in his high chair twice this week. My guess is that in a room with a dozen babies he sleeps twenty minutes and wakes when the next one cries. I just don't know how to find out what 'slept well' means to them without sounding as if I'm accusing them. How did you get an honest picture of naps at daycare?

Our daughter's daycare also wrote 'slept well' for everything. We asked them to write the time she slept and woke, only for one week. After that the sheet became more honest. They did not take it badly.

ask the didi who puts him down, not the office. office fills the sheet. didi knows if he was up again in ten minutes

true. our son's creche sheet said 'slept well' for two straight years. at the farewell the didi told us he hardly slept there at all, just lay quietly watching the fan
