Daycare is moving all the under-2s to one nap. Ours still needs two

hazel_violin_7581

Our son is 14 months. Daycare sent a note that from October the toddler room goes to a single nap after lunch, roughly 12.30 to 2.30. Right now he naps around 10 and again around 2, and on days he misses the morning one he's a wreck by 5. Is 14 months too early for one nap, or do they usually adjust once the whole room does it together? My partner thinks he'll cope. I'm less sure.

Younger one went to one nap at daycare around 15 months. first two weeks were bad, asleep in the car on the way home every single day 😂 then fine. we moved dinner and bedtime earlier, like 7. that helped more than anything

Car nap at 5 is exactly my fear, then he's up till 10. Did you move bedtime straight to 7 or bit by bit?

Saving this for later! Ours is only three months so naps are whenever she feels like it, but daycare transitions are what I lie awake planning. The earlier bedtime sounds doable even with work ❤️
