Class 11 son wants to go to a foreign university fair at a hotel. He plans to study in India

There is a university fair at a hotel this month, mostly UK, Australian and Canadian universities, and my son wants to go with two friends. He is in class 11 science and as far as we know he is aiming for engineering here. I am not against it, but I would like to understand what the afternoon is like before I give up a Saturday. Is it mainly stalls handing out brochures and collecting phone numbers, or did your child come away with something useful? And would you go with him, or let the three of them go alone?

my daughter's younger, so we haven't been. a colleague took his son to one last year. his take was that the stalls were mostly brochures and sign-up sheets, and the useful part was listening to the questions other parents asked about costs and visas. he came away clearer about what they didn't want, which he counted as worth it
