Changing schools after Grade 2: how difficult was the adjustment — looking for recent parent experiences

We may move within Hyderabad and the commute to the current school would become unrealistic. Academically both schools follow Cambridge. I am more worried about friendships and confidence. Parents who switched in primary school, how long did settling in take? We have spoken to a couple of parents offline too, but the answers are very mixed.
