Caregiver needs to leave at 5.30 now because her daughter's school bus timing changed
Our caregiver has worked with us for a year and covers 8.30 to 6. Her daughter moved schools in June and the new bus drops her at 5.45, so she has asked to leave at 5.30. That is reasonable, and I don't want to lose her. The problem is the half hour. I'm usually home by 6.15 if traffic behaves. My partner runs a business, and those evenings vary. Our son is 4 and our daughter is 2, so we can't hand them to someone casual for that window. The options I can see: I start at 7.30 and leave the office earlier, a neighbour's helper covers the half hour, or the caregiver comes in half an hour earlier in the morning instead. Has anyone run one of these for a few months? I'm less interested in what works in week one than in what still works in week ten.
