Caregiver feeds our 1 year old with rhymes playing on her phone

breezy_quilt_7063

Came home early on Monday and saw how lunch actually happens. Phone propped against the water jug, rhymes on, spoon goes in while he stares. He finishes the bowl, which is why she does it. Without the phone he eats maybe half and throws the rest. Is this worth a fight with someone who is otherwise very good with him? Not convinced the no-screens-before-2 rule survives contact with lunch.

had the exact same thing with our younger one at that age. we asked our nanny to try lunch on the balcony instead, birds, autos, whatever is going on. first week she ate less, second week about the same as with the phone. nanny was annoyed for a few days then it became normal half a bowl at 1 is fine btw. our doctor's line was they eat for the week, not the meal

We have the same situation, and our caregiver is also excellent otherwise, which is what makes it hard to raise. How did you put it to your nanny without her taking it as criticism? I'm worried she will hear it as us not trusting her.
