Back on the night duty roster for the first time since my daughter was born
Department is short, and from September I'm on nights once a week. No nights for me in over three years, so this is new territory with a preschooler. My partner's business hours are long and don't bend, so the plan so far is: partner does bedtime, my son (who has his own exams and his own life) is backup, and I come home at 8 and do breakfast and preschool drop half awake. For parents on rotating nights with a preschooler, does the child keep track of which night it is? What helped her settle at bedtime without you?
