After my night shifts, our daughter serves me 'dinner' at 8 in the morning
I get home from nights around 8. She has started laying out a plate for me before her school van comes: half a chapati from her own breakfast, two biscuits and a glass of water. She calls it my dinner. Then she says good night and tells me to sleep properly because patients are waiting. My mother says she has done it every night-shift morning for two weeks. I've started saving my appetite for it.
