A caregiver shift change shouldn't surprise the child

We have two familiar adults helping on different days. A last-minute shift change is ordinary for the adults but confusing for a young child expecting one person. How do you make the handover predictable without acting as if every change is a crisis?

Tell the child who will be there before the usual handover point.

A familiar action may be more reassuring than a long explanation.
