Fifteen daycare photos a day and I can't stop checking in meetings

violet_trail_8539

Our daughter is 4 months and started daycare a few weeks ago. The daycare is lovely about updates, they send photos through their app all day. Bottle, nap, tummy time, another nap, the same nap from a different angle. I counted fifteen on Friday. My husband loves it. He looks at them at lunch and says it's the most reassuring part of his day. I, on the other hand, caught myself unlocking my phone under the table in a supplier meeting just in case there was a new one, and I lost the thread of what was being discussed. I don't want to ask them to stop because he enjoys it and honestly so do I in the evening. How do you manage it so it doesn't take over the workday? ❤️

When my daughter started daycare I had the same pull towards the phone, especially in the first two months. I turned off notifications for that app only and looked at the photos twice a day, at lunch and on the way home. Is your husband getting them through the same app? If yes, he could keep notifications on and just call you if something actually needs your attention.

We did something similar, my wife kept the alerts and I checked only in the evening. It mostly worked, but I'll be honest that I felt a little left out of the day at first, and there were evenings when I didn't want to go through forty photos at once. I don't think there's a setting that gets both parts right.

Arre fifteen is a lot, ours sent maybe five and even that I was checking like a stock ticker. What helped me was muting it during the work block and keeping one look in the afternoon. Is it photos only or do they also send messages for things like feeds?
