  • 0on Class 3 maths teacher has banned erasers, and my neat son hates his notebook now

I taught primary classes for some years before we moved here, and we had the same rule. It was about seeing where the child went wrong, not about neatness. The children who tore out pages were always the careful ones, and a quiet word from the teacher usually settled them.

  • 3on Daycare wants the anklets off. My mother wants the black thread left on

In our family it was a kala dhaga on the ankle for both my children. When my daughter started playschool the teacher asked us to remove it and my mother-in-law did not speak to me for two days 😄 I was a teacher myself, so I could see the school's side. Little ones pull at anything on another child. We moved it to the cot, tied to one leg, and everyone was satisfied. When you are managing things on your own, these small adjustments save a lot of arguments.

  • 6on Relatives think being a vice principal means I can 'arrange' a class 11 seat

I taught for nine years before we moved here and it was the same every April. For me it was my husband's colleagues, not relatives, which was worse because I couldn't avoid them at functions. What finally worked was giving everyone the same printed sheet with the dates and saying I sign nothing. After one year people stopped asking.
