4on If my 12 year old skips the weekend foundation batch, who does he play with?
We decided against it for our younger one, who is also 12. Both our children are at a Kendriya Vidyalaya. He already needs extra time with school reading, and a weekend batch on top would only have tired him. The friends who joined still came down to play when they had time, only less often. Our daughter in class 10 did a foundation course for one year because she asked for it herself, and that was the difference for us: whether the child wants it, or the friends do.
2on Running the kids' treasure hunt in our building. One boy has dyslexia and every clue is written
Our younger one is 12, dyslexia. Things that work for him: 1. Put everyone in pairs or teams. 2. Make one clue in three a picture or a sound clue, for all teams, so nobody knows why. 3. Read the first clue aloud to everyone together. 4. Big plain font, not fancy letters, with space between lines. 5. Nobody reads aloud alone. Most important, tell the mother your plan before the day so she can tell him. He will come if he knows what to expect.
Take everything. The DigiLocker printout, a letter from the school on letterhead with his roll number and the school seal, and the marksheet. Four photocopies of each, and passport photos. In my experience with these offices, extra papers never hurt, but one missing paper means a second trip.
