Thinking of moving my 11 year old to Silver Oaks Bachupally next year

fern_drum_2888

The commute is the whole reason. Our current school is a long drive across now and Silver Oaks in Bachupally would be close to home, she'd get back early enough to actually have an evening. But she's 11 and her friends are everything right now. She has a group of three girls she's been with since KG and when I mentioned it she went quiet for the whole dinner. Those of you who moved a child in the middle years, how did it go for them socially? Did the first year settle or did it drag on

Did you ask her what she's most worried about losing? With my son it turned out to be one specific friend, not the whole group, and that was easier to plan around.

We moved our elder one at 12, for a different reason, and the part nobody warned me about was the weekends. School days she was fine by the second term. Saturdays were the hard part because the old friends had their own plans and the new ones weren't close yet. What helped was keeping one fixed activity with the old group, for us a swimming class, for about a year.
