She crawls to the door at the same time every evening. It's for the vegetable cart, not me

Around 6.40 every evening our daughter drops whatever she's doing and crawls to the front door. For a week I thought it was sweet. She knew Appa would be home soon. Then I got home early on Friday and she didn't even look up. At 6.40 the vegetable cart man called out in the lane and she was off like a shot. Turns out our caregiver takes her down to see him every evening, and he gives her a sprig of curry leaves to hold. I can't compete with curry leaves.

at least you know where you stand. our son used to wait at the balcony for the garbage truck every morning. he's in school now and still gets more excited about that truck than about me coming home
