School forms only ask for father or mother, and I'm the one doing pickup

maple_diary_9433

My niece lives with me because both her parents' jobs are in a different city, and I do the daily drop and pickup. Every form we have been handed asks for father or mother, with nowhere to put a guardian. Her parents have said they'll sign whatever is needed. I just want to be properly on record so nobody at the gate is ever unsure about handing her to me. If you have been in this position, what did the school office ask for? An authorisation letter from the parents, ID copies, something notarised? Would love to walk in with the right papers the first time ❤️

from the parent side, when my sister picked up my son for a term we gave a signed letter from both of us plus her id copy. took a day. did they give you a separate pickup authorisation form or only the admission one?
