Pulls himself up on the cot rails at 2 am, then can't work out how to sit down

New skill this week: our son pulls himself up on the cot rails. Great during the day. At night he does it half asleep, stands there holding on, and then cries because he has no idea how to get back down. I lay him down, and a minute later he's up again. Last night we did this eleven times. My mother says all of hers did this and it passes. She also says that about everything. How many nights before it stopped for you? 😅

Practise sitting down in the daytime. Hold him standing at the sofa and gently bend his knees till he plops down, make a game of it. Ours took about a week to get it and the night standing stopped soon after. Or it would have passed anyway, hard to say 🤷‍♀️

Trying this today. He thinks bending his knees is the funniest thing anyone has ever done to him 😂

Update after his nap: he stood up, wobbled, and sat down by himself. Once. Then stood straight back up to show off. Will report on tonight.
