Pocket money for a 15-year-old: fixed monthly amount or ask as needed?
We want our teen to learn budgeting, not just get cash whenever requested. If you use a monthly allowance, what does it cover and what still comes from parents separately?

We wrote the phone rules together and applied a couple of them to adults too, especially no phones at dinner. That reduced the 'why only me?' argument. My spouse had a different view initially, so we tried it for a few weeks before deciding.
The phrase that helped us was 'trust grows with responsibility'. It made the boundary less personal and gave the teen a path to more freedom.
This helps. I am going to add this to the questions for our next visit/meeting. We try to keep one open channel without demanding every detail. We made the change gradually rather than all at once.
